Debt Counselling is a means for an Over-Indebted consumer to have their monthly debt payments restructured to more affordable amounts. This allows the consumer to maintain payments on their debt while now being able to afford their monthly living expenses. This process came into existence through the National Credit Act and all Debt Counsellors must be suitably qualified and registered with the National Credit Regulator.
